We study how the brain and mind create emotions

We are interdisciplinary scientists directed by Dr. Kristen Lindquist in the Department of Psychology and Neuroscience at the University of North Carolina. We use the tools of social cognition, physiology, and neuroscience to understand how people experience emotions in their own bodies and see them in others. We are interested in how these processes differ across the lifespan, across cultures, and in health and disease.
